Last Friday, on 19th June, we hosted the first digital Balkan Film Night as part of the Long Night of Ideas organised by the German Foreign Office. We showcased four films from Southeast Europe and were joined by the likes of Georgi Gospodinov and Aleksandar Zograf for lively discussions on the films Blind Vaysha and The Final Adventure of Kaktus Kid. All talks are available to watch on our YouTube channel, including the discussion between Marija Katalinić, Vlastimir Sudar and Teona Strugar Mitevska. As for the films, such as Borders, Raindrops, which co-director Vlastimir Sudar defines as a “hot summer afternoon film“, check your local cinema if any of them pop up on the programme as they are well worth a watch!
