Ružica Cindori was born in 1961 in Ludbreg, Croatia. She studied comparative literature and philosophy in Zagreb, where she still lives now and works as the Secretary of the Croatian Writers’ Association. Since 1984, she has published 8 books of poetry. Her poems have been translated to several languages. She received many awards, including the Dobriša Cesarić Prize in 2006 and the Bulgarian prize Srebrno leće pero in 2010. Ružica Cindori translates from South Slavic languages and has translated works of many poets and writers including Vesna Acevska, Dimcho Debelyanov, Elka Nyagolova, Veno Taufer, Ivo Frbežar, Cvetka Bevc, Gregor Podlogar, and Stanka Hrastelj.
