The wanderers will find a way home
The year is coming to its close and all Traduki residency fellows have returned back home. This year Traduki, in collaboration with the Romanian Literature Museum and Headsome Communication, organised its first residencies in Bucharest. The programme was a great success and both guests, the Slovenian poet Uroš Prah and the Bulgarian literary translator Hristo Boev, enjoyed their stay. Prah finished his poetry collection Udor, which came out a month after his residency. In Bucharest he had two public readings, where he presented some of his older material as well as poems from the new collection. The literary translator Boev, who is in thrall with the Romanian literary scene and has so far translated 18 novels into Bulgarian, worked on new translations and paid a visit to the Bulgarian Department at Bucharest University. There he shared his knowledge and experience on literary translation with the local students. The last traveller of the year was the Serbian author Ana Marija Grbić, who in cooperation with Next Page stayed a month in Sofia. There she worked on her collection of short stories, which will come out in the upcoming months. Grbić also had two events, where she introduced herself to the Bulgarian public. Let's see, who be will be travelling around in 2020? In any case: Happy New Year!
