Common Ground –
Literature from Southeast Europe in Vienna
Common Ground – Literature from Southeast Europe. Under this title Traduki presents literature from the Southeast European region. The programme was set to see its grand opening as part of the Leipzig Book Fair in March 2020 and see its continuation with additional events at the Buch Wien 2020. Unfortunately, both fairs had to be cancelled. However, the events at the ÖGL and Literaturhaus Wien were supposed go ahead but, alas, the odds were not in our favour and we had to rethink these two events as well.
Nevertheless we invite you to explore Southeast Europe’s literary side and would be delighted, if we can join you on your journey.
Attention: The event on 12th will now be livestreamed, the event on 24th has been moved to 2021.
The Buch Wien might be cancelled, but a small part of the “Common Ground” will be hosted in the Austrian capital and present interesting readings and talks. On 12 November the focus lies on the great European writer Danilo Kiš and his immense influence on younger generations of writers. On 24 November we will present the poetry series “Tradukita poezio – Poetry from Southeast Europe”. This fall, the final volume of this series, Marianna Georgieva’s ausweg, will see its publication.
In Vienna, the Common Ground will be hosted by the Austrian Society for Literature and Literaturhaus Wien. Special thanks to both venues for collaborating with us.
