Congratultions All Around

24 June 2025

Prolific translator Anita Peti-Stantić is the recipient of this year’s Lavrin Diploma for her tireless work in the field of literary translation. The award ceremony was held in Ljubljana during the 30th edition of the Slovenian Book Days at the beginning of June. Peti-Stantić has translated numerous works from the Slovenian into Croatian, including books by Goran Vojnović, Jože Pirjevec, and Drago Jančar. Most recently, her translation of Tina Bilban’s 50 apstraktnih izuma was published by Ljevak with the support of TRADUKI.

We would like to also congratulate Ana Schnabl, Meral Kureyshi and Jehona Kicaj. On Monday, Schnabl was awarded the Slovenian Kresnik Award for the best novel of the year for September (Beletrina). Kureyshi was part of this year’s TRADUKI programme in Leipzig where she presented her novel Im Meer waren wir nie (Limmat Verlag). Last week she won the Literary Prize 2025 of the Canton Bern for it. HANNA, the literature prize of the state capital Hannover, will this year go to Kicaj for her yet unpublished novel ë (Wallstein Verlag), which is coming out at the end of July and which she already presented in Leipzig.
