Magazines As a Gateway to Southeast European Literature

For authors and translators, literary magazines often offer a first opportunity for publication. This also applies to translated texts from ‘smaller’ languages, such as those from Southeast Europe. The literary magazine Lichtungen often and repeatedly publishes special issues on this literary region. Daniela Kocmut and Alexander Sitzmann will shed light on the role of magazines as a place for literary “exposure” and as catalysts for future publications as well as their general importance in the literary sphere. The evening will be moderated by Nadja Grössing.
