In the current Revisiting Residencies episode, we accompany Adina Popescu on her journey through Albania. During her stay in Tirana, the Romanian author and filmmaker set out on the trail of her Aromanian ancestors, who, centuries ago, fled from Albania to present-day Romania. We follow Popescu across the country, all the way to Voskopojë, a pivotal Aromanian centre in the past, where many of the inhabitants still speak Aromanian today. Although it was her first time in Albania, Popescu’s exploration of the country feels like a long overdue homecoming.
